October 8th, 2026 – Sicamous, BC
A high-density operational bottleneck has hit our municipal storage lines. Our Undercover Task Force has been tracking local trophy distribution anomalies, and we can officially confirm that the Shuswap is currently locked into an unending, high-velocity awards season cycle.
Skeptics in the public gallery are already whisper-tagging this timeline as “Everybody Gets a Trophy Day.” And frankly, when you look at the raw data grids, it sure looks like that. Between the Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Fall Business Excellence Gala at the Red Barn, the Shuswaps Readers Choice Awards, The Heart of the Shuswap Awards and a mysterious syndicate known as the Sicamous Social Clubs Local Legend Awards, local mantelpieces are structurally warping under the sheer weight of brass plating. Pretty sure we’re missing a bunch too, anyone ever here of The Sicamous and District Minor Hockey Association Awards? Yeah that’s a thing too.
The density of the Shuswap award market is not an understatement, our field scanners logged that a single spring gala held by the Sicamous Social Club handed out a staggering 638 community certificates in a single evening. At this current trajectory, our web department calculates that by mid-2027, it will be legally impossible to order a burger or buy a coffee in the valley without accidentally being crowned an “Unsung Hometown Legend” by a passing committee.
THE REASONABLE ANOMALY
But hold your cynical emails, readers. While the corporate press loves a cookie-cutter congratulations block, Sicamous Local News is here to provide the actual truth: our Municipality simply house a ridiculous, statistically impossible concentration of people who genuinely deserve recognition. We are a town of over-achievers operating on a mass-scale mutual support layout.
THE INAUGURAL MULTI-DEPARTMENT ACCLAIM
To ensure absolute saturation, our administrative matrix is proudly announcing the inaugural Sicamous Local News Awards. No, you cannot nominate your brother-in-law, and no, we are not ordering custom acrylic obelisks because our operational fuel buffer is capped. Instead, we’re going to make our own trophy’s. We know how its done, its not our first trophy rodeo.

Our Field Department will be handing out elite, zero-budget accolades including:
- Best Decorated House (Halloween): October 31, 2026
- Best Decorated House (Christmas): December 25, 2026
- Best Decorated House (Groundhog Day): February 2, 2027
- Best Decorated House (Valentine’s Day): February 14, 2027
- Best Decorated House (St. Patrick’s Day): March 17, 2027
- Best Decorated House (Easter): March 28, 2027 (Yes Easters in March)
- Best Decorated House (Administrative Professionals Day): April 21, 2027
- Best Decorated House (National Waffle Day): August 24, 2027
Stay tuned as we continue to track which local corporate strategist takes home our highest honors. Keep your blazers pressed, Sicamous. The trophy trucks are reversing into the driveway.
